Containment Measures imposed in East Garo Hills
In view of the prevailing situation concerning COVID-19 in the state, District Magistrate, East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar, Swapnil Tembe, IAS had issued an order under Section 144 CrPC to imposed Containment Measures in the district.
This in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 144 Cr.P.C. read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.
According to the order, all schools, colleges, coaching institutions and other educational institutions to remain closed in the entire district of East Garo Hills till 20th May, 2021. They are encouraged to continue online classes to the extent possible.
Night Curfew from 10:00 P.M to 5:00 A.M all over the District will continue until withdrawn. However, it will not be applicable to Security forces, Medical team and other Emergency Services including goods transport and Inter State transport.
All shops and commercials establishments shall close everyday at 7:00 PM all across the district.
Weekend Lockdown will be imposed from 10 AM of 14th May 2021 till 5 AM of 17th May 2021.
Operation of weekly markets will be restricted to only agricultural items, vegetables and fruits.
Places of religious worship shall remain closed except for wedding ceremony with prior permission of the undersigned.
Political, Public, Social and religious gatherings are not permitted including conferences, meetings and trainings. Weddings and Funerals are, however, permitted subject to a ceiling of 30 persons and with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner.
Entry of tourists from outside the State shall not be permitted and all tourist spots shall remain closed.
Sports activities are not permitted.
Wearing of face Mask/Covering of mouth and nose when coming out mandatory and spitting & smoking in the public places is prohibited. Violators will be imposed penalty by the designated Officers.
This Order come into force from May 10 until further orders.
