Containment tag lifted from four villages, entry exit prohibited in Shnongpdeng
The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Amlarem Sub Division, Abhilash Baranwal, IAS in an order issued on Sunday has lifted the containment orders from four villages along the Indo Bangladesh Border after the rate of transmission have tapered off.
The villages that have been unsealed are:
Dawki
Darrang
Bakur
Lymba
As per order issued on April 13, the areas under Shnongpdeng, Darrang, Kongwang, Lymba, Dawki and Bakur have been declared as containment areas due to large upsurge of Covid-19 positive cases as well as the high positivity rate.
“Based on the report of Active Surveillance conducted and recent testing of high-risk contacts, as well as vulnerable population in the villages of Darrang, Dawki, Bakur and Lymba and the reports, received thereof, the rate of transmission seems to have tapered off, the containment for Dawki, Darrang, Bakur and Lymba is hereby completely lifted with immediate effect,” the order said.
The order stated that all economic activities and movement of people only within the village in Shnongpdeng may resume. However, the entry into and exit of persons from the abovementioned village is still prohibited.
