Containment tag lifted from Iongpiah Jowai
The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District, Garod LSN Dykes lifted the containment tag from Iongpiah, Jowai on Tuesday, as there were no COVID-19 positive cases reported in the last one week.
The last known positive case was reported on September 28. Five persons were tested COVID-19 positive from a residential house and compound of Lamwan Pasweth, Heisuk Kyndiah and Pynhunlangki Toi of Iongpiah, Jowai.
“The Containment tag has been lifted on the report received from the Health & Family Welfare Department, West Jaintia Hills that the contact tracing exercise conducted by the Contact Tracing Team and also Behaviour Change Management Training has been completed,” Garod said in an order issued.
Further, Garod said that the Village COVID-19 Management Committee, Iongpiah, Jowai in coordination with the District Administration, Jowai Municipal Board and District Surveillance Officer will continue to monitor the behavioural change amongst the residents.
However, District Magistrate asked the residents to be wary. People are directed to strictly adhere to the health protocols and not to litter garbage but to dispose the same as per protocol and direction of the Village authority and to cooperate with the arrangement made by the District Administration, Police and Village Authority.
