Containment zone order lifted from seven villages in Amlarem Sub Division

Seven villages which was earlier placed under containment zone have been withdrawn by the West Jaintia Hills District Magistrate Garod LSN Dykes on Friday after no new COVID-19 cases were detected in past few days.

The areas that have been unsealed are:
Amlarem
Krangpamtdong
Amsarim
Ladjaplem
Amshipai
Lai Lyngdoh
Amlatdoh.

The order declaring the seven villages as containment zone has withdrawn from 6:00 AM of 1^st August, 2020 until further orders based on the report received from the Health &Family Welfare Department, West Jaintia Hills District that Contact Tracing Team and also training Behaviour Change Management have been completed.

The District Magistrate has further informed that the declaring of the above area as containment area is withdrawn under the following conditions:

1. The Headman of Amlarem, Krangpamtdong. Amsarim, Amshipai, Lai Lyngdoh and Amlatdohi in coordination with the Administration (Civil) and Police, Civil Sub-Division Amalrem will regulate the operation of the shops in their respective localities and Villages with special ands strict adherence to the SOP for Market and Shopkeepers issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department

2. The Village COVID-19 Management Committee in coordination with the Administration (Civil), Block development Officer C&RD Amlarem Block and Health Officials, Civil Sub-division, Amlarem will monitor behavioural change amongst the residents to adopt to the new norms of living with COVID-19 which includes mandatory wearing of face Masks in publics spaces maintaining physical distancing and regular hand hygiene.

3. The members of public are requested to strictly adhere to the following advisories: Maintain Social distancing of at least 2 meter (6 feet), Not to overcrowd in one area/shop, mandate to wear mask, Not to spit in public places, to propagate personal hygiene, cleaning of houses and surroundings, Not to litter garbage but to dispose the same as per protocol and direction of the Village authority and to wash hand with soap/sanitizer regularly. Shop Owners are directed to sanitize and clean their shops/ surroundings on a daily basis and to cooperate with the arrangement made by the District/ Sub-Division Administration, Police and Village Authority.

In addition, the District Magistrate has directed all residents to comply with the Government advisories and other health Protocols and Prohibitory Orders of the District Magistrate.
