Cooperatives for sustainable development 5K Run draws 500 participants

To commemorate the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the Office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, successfully organized the “Cooperatives for Sustainable Development 5K Run” on March 29.
The event, which started and finished at Golf Club, Golflinks, Shillong, attracted approximately 500 participants. WAM Booth, IAS, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Meghalaya, flagged off the event in the presence of various other officers.
The prizes were distributed by WAM Booth, IAS, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Meghalaya, the Chief Guest, accompanied by Vivek Syiem, IPS, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, RN Rymbai, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Meghalaya, O Mawthoh, District Sports Officer, Shillong, and other officers at Golf Club, Golflinks, Shillong.
This celebration was part of the nationwide observance of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly.
