Corona night curfew relaxed by 2 hrs, shops to open till 8 PM in West Jaintia Hills
West Jaintia Hills District Magistrate, Garod LSN Dykes on Saturday has extended and relaxed the corona night curfew timing as a part of Containment Measures in District with immediate effect in order to safeguard the District from an uncontrollable surge in Covid-19 cases
Night Curfew will now start from 10.00 Pm to 5.00 Am daily.
Restricted Activities
Funeral gatherings are permitted upto a maximum number of 50 persons.
Engagement/marriage ceremonies outside places of Worship is permitted upto 1/3 seating capacity but subject to a maximum number of 100 persons in spacious halls/open areas and 50 persons in private residences.
Wedding reception is not permitted.
All weekly markets shall remain closed.
Inter-State movement of persons shall continue to be restricted. This shall not apply for transit vehicles of Assam/Tripura/Manipur/ Mizoram. All Transit Vehicles shall not be permitted to park in any inhabited Villages along the National Highway NH-06 (old name NH-44) under the jurisdiction of West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya.

The order allows 50% of shops to open at Iawmusiang, CNI Market, lawchyiap (JPC Market), Iaw Seinraj and Iawthymme, Ladthalaboh, Jowai to be strictly followed and regulated by the Market Committees between 8 AM to 8 PM.

50% of shops are permitted to open at Temporary Vending Zones Iaw Sein Raij, Iawmusiang, Iawchyiap (JPC market) Chutwakhu and MTC Parking lot, Iawmusiang between 8 Am to 8 Pm.

Opening of Essential and non-Essential Shops are permitted to open from Monday to Saturday between 8 AM to 8 PM.
Lay Bye Market lalong is permitted to open on Odd/Even number Irom Monday to Saturday between 8 AM to 8 PM subject to strictly follow the SOP of the Lay Bye Market Committee. Vehicles for transportation of Wholesale Vegetables are not permitted to enter Jowai Town.
Construction activities including road construction etc. are permilted subject to strict complinnce of Covid-19 Protocols.
Banks and Post Office may function at 100% strength and shall close at 5.00 PM daily.
Ecommerce activities and Courier Services are permitted subject to strict compliance of Covid -19 Protocols.
Central Government Offices and State Government Offices may fiunction at 100% strength and shall close at 5.00 PM daily.
The order has allowed 50 % movement of public/private transport within the district with 50% of the existing capacity for movement of persons from 8 am to 8 Pm.

All vehicles coming from West Jaintia Hills are directed to park in Boucher Road, Shillong.
Drivers are to ensure that all passengers wear masks and that there is proper social distance among them.
Operation of Border Trade through Tamabil ICP Amlarem Sub- Division, West Jaintia Hills District subject to strictly follow with the SOP issued by the SDO (Civil) Amlarem. In addition, SOPs and other Protocols already put in place or being put in place by the Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to contain spread of COVID-19 which must be strictly complied with.
Dorbar Shnong Meetings, trainings, Official and Private Programmes are permitted with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai /Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
Private transport may ply upto 100% within West Jaintia Hills District.
Skill Training Programme (both Government and Private) may resume subject to compliance with the SOP issued by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with prior permission from the Deputy commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai /Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
Religious Places/Places of worship are periitted to re-open with maximum number of persons allowed during service should not exceed 50 % of the seating capacity. Solemnization of marriages in religious places/places of worship shall be as per the SOP issued by Home (Political) Department
Opening of Border Haats
Universities and College Hostels are permitted to re-open subject to prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai/Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
Individuals must strictly maintain of distance of 5 feet.
Gymnasiums/Yoga Institutes/fitness Centres are per to re-open subject to prior permission from Deputy Commissioner West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai /Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
Movement of skilled manpower construction activities subject to prior permission from Deputy Commissioner West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai /Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
Public Parks having regulated entry are permitted to open to vaccinated persons with due intimation to the Deputy commissioner.
The following sports activities are permitted subject to compliance with the SOPs issued by the Sports & Youth Affairs Department for resumption of Recreational and Competitive Sports with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai/Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.
a. Non-Contact viz; Archery, Shooting, Cycling, Athletics and Running.
b. Indirect Contact Sports viz; Golf, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Snooker,
Weightlifting and Billiards.
c. Minimal-Contact Sports viz; Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball and Cricket for training purposes only by Sports Clubs and Associations.
d. Sports competitions for (a) (b) and (c) above only officials are allowed and no
spectators.
e. Swimming in places with regulated entry such as resorts club pools and public pools with staggered timing and prior bookings.
Categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) is restricted to persons above 18 years who are vaccinated.
Colleges/Educational Institutions are allowed to open both in urban and rural areas as per SOP issued by Educational Department.
Principal of the Colleges shall monitor for strict compliance of the SOP issued by Education Department, Govt. of Meghalaya.
Re-opening of Educational Institutions as per SOP issued by Educational Department, Govt. of Meghalaya.
In Urban areas: Class I to V- Only Online, Class VI to VIII- School Visit and
Class IX to XII- Open
In Rural areas : Class I to V – School Visit, Class VI to VIII – Open and Class IX to XII – Open.
The District School Education Officer/Sub-Divisional School Education Officer shall
monitor for strict compliance of the SOP issued by Education Department, Govt. of
Meghalaya.
Re-opening of tourism for local, domestic and international tourists. The Tourist Officer, West Jaintia Hills District shall monitor for strict compliance of the SOP issued by Tourism Department, Govt. of Meghalaya Dt. 28.8.2021.
Citizens are requested to restrict themselves within their respective places in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 cases.
