Coronavirus: Building in Jowai declared containment area
After one person was tested COVID-19 positive, District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District, Garod LSN Dykes declared building owned by (L) Arwot Lamare in Ladthadlaboh, Jowai as containment area today.
The order issued was by the district magistrate Garod LSN Dykes on the recommendation of the health department for detecting high risk contacts in the specific identified entire building owned by (L) Arwot Lamare in Ladthalaboh Main Road, Khliehumsacham, Land Mark Ladthalaboh, Moosalyngkat road, Jowai.
“There has been recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine testing and isolation as wel as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19,’ District Magistrate said.
The order restricted unregulated movement and exit movement in the affected area from 5.00 AM of 26th August, 2020 to 5.00 AM of 29th August, 2020.
No person/public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and all inhabitants within the Containment area shall not move out.
All inhabitants within the containment area are to strictly remain inside their home
No gatherings. events. functions whatsoever of any nature and forms will be allowed.
No Social. Political. Religious. Economic activities will be allowed.
All the shopping establishment of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration.
All Government & Private Institutions located within the boundary of the Containment area are to closed forthwith, till further Orders.
The Assistant Sector Magistrate, Urban, Jowai will be the Supervising Officer of the entire building owned by (L) Arwot Lamare in Ladthalaboh Main Road, Khliehumsacham, Land Mark Ladthadlaboh, Moosalyngkat road, Jowai which is declared as Containment area.
The Order will not apply to Health Workers and Essential Workers of Jowai Municipal Board, Press including Electronic & Print Media, Petrol Pumps and LPG delivery workforce.
Any violation of this Order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
