Coronavirus: Lumpyllon, Lower Mawprem made new containment zone

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District on Sunday has declared Lumpyllon, Lower Mawprem as COVID-19 containment zone.

Here is the following demarcations:

From MUDA Housing Complex and Field Residency Inn in the West upto the house of Robina Thangkhiew bounded by Municipal drain in the East 

North from the house of Imosila Sohtun and Daphi Marbaniang upto the house of Rosa Kharbamon and Darisha Kharbamon in the South bounded by Municipal drain.

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit in the affected areas to complete the contact tracing.

The Order is necessitated in view of the report received from the Incident Commander Zone-IV and the Medical Officer in-charge Zone-IV that there is a surge of COVID-19 positive case in Lumpyllon, Lower Mawprem and in order to prevent further transmission among the susceptible population, early detection through active house to house (H-T-H) search for persons with symptoms and contact tracing of the high-risk and low-risk contacts is required and further, for effective house to house (H-T-H) surveillance, complete containment of the area is required to ensure people stay indoors during the active search of cases.

No persons are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within this area shall not move out, besides all the inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.

All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately.

The Incident Commander Zone-IV, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order.

However, this Order will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, Press including Electronic and Print Media and LPG delivery workforce.  

Any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.

Any person residing within the containment area displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or requiring medical attention may call 108, stated the Order.

In another order, the District Magistrate has lifted the containment for the Income Tax Quarters, Type-2, Quarter No-4 at Keating Road, the State Bank of India RASMECC, 2^nd Floor Shillong and the Staff Quarters behind the Raj Bhavan campus, Shillong with immediate effect.

However, the house of Om Prakash, Rapsang Building at Keating Road and the quarters of Shri Sanjay Biswa, Shri Suresh Singh, Shri Dinesh Pradhan and Ramashray Prajapati behind the Raj Bhavan campus, Shillong is still retained as micro-containment areas.
