Coronavirus: More houses and building declared containment areas in Shillong

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has declared four more houses and building as containment areas in Shillong for detecting high risk contacts as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

This house and building include the first floor of the building of Smti Shanta Uriah at Streamlet Road, Laban, house and compound of Shri B. Nongrum at Lumdiengsoh (Motinagar), the house of Shri Ashish Dhar at Upper Jail Road (next to Gini’s complex) and the compound of Swapan Deb and Smti Ruma Deb at Upper Jail Road (near Puja Mandap).

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit movement in the affected areas from 1st September 2020 which require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.

In another order, the District Magistrate has also lifted the containment zone tag from the compound of B. Dohling at Mawkhar Main Road, the house of Smti B. Dkhar at Amjad Ali Road, Laban, the house of Smti Sushma Talukdar, Burnside area, near Sankardev College Girls Hostel at Rilbong and the Mantra building opposite the Puja Mandap at Rilbong with immediate effect.

However, the Nepali compound at Rilbong from the house of Smti Roma Devkota, Mira Store upto the river Umjasai is still retained as containment areas.
