COVID-19: Body of 8-month-old baby taken to Arunachal Pradesh
The body of the eight-month-old baby, who died at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) after being tested positive for COVID-19, was taken to Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
“As informed by the NEIGRIHMS Medical Superintendent, the body of the baby has been taken to Arunachal Pradesh today,” Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War told reporters.
The baby boy was admitted by his parents at NEIGRIHMS in critical condition on Monday. On reaching, samples of the family along with the driver were taken. However, the baby was tested positive while his parents and the driver were found to be negative.
Asked, Dr War said that the family had travelled to Meghalaya via Assam. “All protocols were followed while taking the body. We have also informed our counterpart in Arunachal Pradesh for taking necessary action,” the DHS added.
Meanwhile, the death toll due to COVID-19 infection has risen to 2 in the state.
It may be mentioned here the first COVID patient in the state was a 69-year-old senior doctor and founder of Bethany hospital Dr John L Sailo Ryntathiang. He died 24-hour after being tested positive for COVID-19.
