COVID-19: Meghalaya three shorts of 500 active cases
Nine more persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 while 7 others have recovered from the infection on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr War said the new cases include 5 BSF troopers in East Khasi Hills and 4 in East Jaintia Hills.
He said the total number of active cases in the state has also increased to 497.
Of these, 417 are in East Khasi Hills that include 285 BSF, 111 civilians and 21 armed forces personnel.
There are 41 in Ri Bhoi, 15 in West Garo Hills, 8 in West Jaintia Hills, 8 in East Jaintia Hills, 4 in South West Garo Hills, 2 in South Garo Hills, 1 in East Garo Hills and 1 in North Garo Hills.
Dr War said 7 BSF personnel have recovered today taking the total recoveries to 97.
Meanwhile, five patients have so far succumbed to the disease.
