Due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in many states across the country, the Meghalaya Health and Family Welfare department has updated the protocols for entry points.

According to the protocols issued by Sampath Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Health & Family Welfare Department, “Persons entering the State from any State or Union Territories possessing a valid final certificate of vaccination shall be exempted from testing at the entry points. However, this shall not be applicable to persons coming from Maharastra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.”

“Any person coming from these five states shall be required to produce a negative RT-PCR/ TruNat/ CBNAAT report tested at a recognized laboratory within 72 hours of their arrival at the entry point”.
