    In view of the rapid rise of Covid-19 cases in the District and Shillong Urban Agglomeration, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 22nd April, 2021 has directed all bars, clubs, cinema halls, salons, beauty parlors, yoga institutes, gymnasiums, cyber cafes, gaming parlours and swimming pools shall remain closed from 23rd April, 2021 to 30th April, 2021 in Shillong Urban Agglomeration.

    According to the order, all Incident Commanders, Zonal Magistrates will carry out inspection and ensure strict compliance to the order by all concerned and any violation will be met with strict action under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.

    It may be mentioned here that Shillong Urban Agglomeration includes whole of Municipal area, whole of Cantonment area, all areas under Mawlai C&RD Block including Census Towns, Mawpat C&RD Block including Census Towns, Mylliem C&RD Block from Umshyrpi Bridge upto 7th Mile, Upper Shillong including Madanrting, Mawblei, Laitkor, Nongkseh, Umlyngka and Lawsohtun.
