Curfew in East Khasi Hills extended
In view of the continuous sharp spike in COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills District, and hospital bed occupancy nearing saturation, Isawanda Laloo, IAS, District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong extended the Curfew in East Khasi Hills District with effect from 5:00 AM of the 10th of May, 2021 till 5:00 AM of the 17th of May, 2021.
This is in exercise of the powers conferred upon her as District Magistrate under section 144 Cr. P.C. read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID–19 Regulations, 2020
1. No vehicular movement is permitted except for essential services including Health Services.
2. Inter-District movement of persons from and to East Khasi Hills District shall be restricted.
3. All major markets in East Khasi Hills District including Shillong shall remain closed. Essential goods will be made available through shops in the localities as per arrangement to be made by the Incident Commanders/Block Development Officers/Sub Divisional Officers (Civil) alongwith the Headmen/CCMT. Wholesale shops will be permitted and regulated as per order issued by this office vide Order No.SH(S)1/8/2020/Pt.I/12 dated 5th May, 2021.
4. Banks and Post Office are permitted to open with limited staff. Movement of officials will be regulated as per a separate order to be issued by this office.
5. Private offices shall remain closed.
6. Restaurants, cafes and food delivery services are permitted only for home-delivery services subject to due permission from this office. This includes kitchens providing food for quarantine centres, persons on COVID19 duty and families/persons under home isolation as per order No.C&S.3/2009/PT.III/101, Dated Shillong, the 7th May, 2021.
7. Ecommerce and other home delivery services are permitted, subject to due permission and strictly as per regulation of this office.
8. Bars, takeaway counters and liquor delivery services shall remain closed.
9. In-situ Construction works that do not involve movement of labour are permitted with due intimation to this office or Block Development Officers concerned.
10. Weddings already permitted may be held but restricted to family members and not exceeding 15 persons. No new permission shall be granted during the Lockdown period.
11. Funeral gathering to be restricted to 15 persons with prior permission and strict adherence to protocols.
Exemptions:
1. Health services including Vaccination.
2. Essential services viz. Food Corporation of India, Electricity, Water Supply, Security, Police & Armed Forces, Municipal services, Fire & Emergency services, National Informatics Centre and Telecommunication services.
3. Movement of essential goods.
4. Print & Electronic Media.
5. Farming activities in rural areas,
6. MGNREGA activities in rural areas.
7. NARI/ 1917iTEAMS.
8. Officers and staff of Corona Care Centre.
9. All officials on COVID-19 Duty.
10. Shillong Municipal Board essential services.
11. Shillong Cantonment Board essential services.
12. Pharmacies.
13. LPG distributors and
14. Petrol Pumps.
15. All Directorates under Directorate of Health Services.
16. Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
17. Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
18. O/o of Director General of Police.
