DC appeals for public cooperation in fighting COVID-19
The Deputy Commissioner , East Jaintia Hills District in a press release issued here informs the general public that there are Medical Personnel and Government Officials in the various localities and villages of East Jaintia Hills District who have to report for duty in different CHCs PHCs , Deputy Commissioner Offices, District Heads Offices , Essential Services and offices as per exemption granted from the Curfew imposed U/S 144 Cr.P.C to perform their duties during the curfew period to maintain and sustain the essential services required concerning the Covid-19 situation in the district , state and country.
He also stated that, there is an urgency to facilitate their movement along with the generation of awareness and sensitization against stigmatization of these frontline workers and their families.
Therefore, movement of the all Medical Officers and staff of the Health Department, East Jaintia Hills District, Officers, staffs and employees of the office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Heads Offices, also other essential offices and services which includes Public Distribution System (PDS), Wholesalers, goods services carriers who are assigned duty relating to COVID-19 shall not be restricted on production of authenticated car passes and Identity Card’s at any check points.
Furthermore, all Headman (Rangbah Shnong), Community Leaders, VDPs, Civil Society Organizations and Church Leaders , and citizens are requested to create awareness and sensitization against stigmatization and other inconveniences that may cause to Doctors , Medical staff and other officers on Covid-19 duty and also to extend all support to the Government machinery including health workers and those in essential services in tackling this unprecedented global pandemic which has affected our state as well. Hence, cooperation on this matter from all sections will be highly appreciated.
