DC East Khasi Hills directs firms to follow Sexual Harassment Act

The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District has announced that all private sector establishments within the district are required to constitute Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) under Section 4(1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.

A report confirming the formation of the committee must be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s office by March 20, 2025.

Non-compliance could result in penalties as outlined in Section 26 of the Act.
