DEO encourage voters of the district to exercise their franchise

The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills has informed that there are 2,07,374 registered voters in West Jaintia Hills District and 312 polling stations in the 5 Assembly Segment of 1-Nartiang (ST) 2- Jowai (ST), 3-Raliang (ST), 4 -Mowkaiaw(ST) and 7 – Amlarem(ST) Assembly Segment.

The DEO urged all registered and eligible voters from the five Assembly segments to exercise their franchise on the 19th April, 2024 and vote for their choice of candidate for the parliamentary election to the Lok Sabha. The voting starts from 7Am will continue till 4 Pm.  

At the same time, he made clear to the citizens that they should not doubt or fear the function of the voter machine EVM and VVPAT, ensuring that their votes are accurately recorded and directly attributed to the candidate of their choice.

The District Election Officer emphasises the citizens that participating in the election process is a sign to show that we are responsible citizens.
