Deputy Commissioner distributes life jackets to Cham Cham, Mutong, Rangad and Khaddum villages for water safety

In an effort to enhance water safety and promote local entrepreneurship, the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, has taken a proactive step by distributing life jackets to the villages of Cham Cham, Mutong, Rangad, and Khaddum on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal stated that the villages have been instructed to ensure no tourists venture into deep waters without life jackets. He said these life jackets can be rented out, generating additional revenue for the villages.

All the life jackets were locally made in East Jaintia Hills, not only promoting water safety but also fostering the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) and vocal for local initiatives, DC added.
