Designers of first Khasi gaming app ‘Shi Kyntein’ felicitated in Shillong
SHILLONG: Three youth from Shillong were felicitated by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) for designing the first ever Khasi gaming app – “Shi Kyntein” or one word on the occasion to observe the 184th death anniversary of U Tirot Sing Sawian here on Wednesday.
Aibor Nongkynrih, Aikindasuk Khongsngi and Denzil Sawian have started designing the gaming app when they were in college in 2016.
“But it is only after our graduation we decided to complete what we have started,” Nongkynrih told reporters. He said the app aims at helping people to have better knowledge about the Khasi language adding it is just by looking at the graphics people can guess the correct word.
“Over 10,000 people have installed the gaming app so far,” Nongkynrih said. Asked, the twenty-five-year-old youth said that the app was supposed to have 400 words but owing to difficulty in getting graphics it was limited to only 200 words.
Nongkynrih further informed that they are also proposing to design other games which can increase the level of awareness among the people especially on the need to say no to drugs and importance of cleanliness.
