Dibormi’s late goal secures Rangdajied’s second win in Shillong Premier League
Rangdajied United FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nongrim Hills SC in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 on Friday. The decisive moment came in the 87th minute when Dibormi Kassar converted a rebound into the net, giving Rangdajied their second win of the season.
With this result, Rangdajied climbed from seventh to fourth in the standings, while Nongrim Hills dropped to seventh. The match saw a scrappy first half with close-quarter clashes, but the second half opened up, though both teams struggled to finish their chances. Rangdajied had more scoring opportunities but often missed the mark.
The breakthrough for Rangdajied came after a shot from the right flank was blocked, and Dibormi capitalized on the rebound. Goalkeeper Banshanskhem Kharsyntiew made two crucial saves for Rangdajied, first denying Nickhil Lyngkhoi in the 38th minute and then blocking a deflected strike from Mebanshan Suting just before halftime.
Despite dominating in the second half, Rangdajied missed several chances, notably when substitute Manbhakupar Iawphniaw mishandled a cross at the far post, letting the ball slip out of play.
The OC Blue SPL action continues on November 9 with a double-header: Nangkiew Irat SC faces defending champions Mawlai SC at 1 pm, followed by league leaders Shillong Lajong FC against Ryntih FC at 4:30 pm.
