Direct service from Jowai to Guwahati at an affordable rate of Rs. 600

Good news for regular commuters from Jowai to Guwahati and vice versa as now there is direct service which is not swift but affordable and the service is all set to start from Tuesday.

Launched under the banner of Jowai Shillong Guwahati Tourist Cab Association (JSGTCA), the tourist cabs will ply daily from Jowai to Guwahati directly via Shillong bypass.

The embarkation and disembarkation point in Jowai Town is along the Shillong Jowai tourist Cabs while in Guwahati, Assam it is at Paltan Bazar ASTC complex.

According to A Pohshna who is the President Jowai Shillong Guwahati Tourist Cab Association, “This service will ease the passengers who travel from Jowai to Guwahati directly as we will not enter Shillong city hence avoid traffic jam.”

The fare is Rs 600/- each passenger and seating capacity 5 including driver, he asserted.

Inaugurating the Tourist Stand in Jowai, OR Shallam President Seinraij Jowai urged the drivers not to harass and overcharge passengers and to strictly follow traffic rules.
