Direction for vaccination of shopkeepers, drivers, etc in the district

As informed during the District Covid Management Committee meeting held recently, the District Magistrate observed that many Shopkeepers, Vegetable Vendors, Auto drivers and labourers in the age group of 45 years and above in West Garo Hills District particularly in Tura Town have not been vaccinated but running their business and activities in their respective places.

Therefore, the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, Tura had directed all those eligible Shopkeepers, Vegetables Vendors, auto drivers and labourers to vaccinate themselves as soon as possible in the nearest vaccination centres.

The order also mentioned that the District Administration has been trying their best to vaccinate all people above the age group of 45 years, however, so far only 80 % vaccination have been achieved in the district and 96 % in Tura. Hence, the Chief Executive Officer, Tura Municipal Board, District Transport Officer, District Immunisation Officer and Bazaar Committees are directed to coordinate and ensure that 100% vaccination should be done for these Frontline Workers in the district.
