District Level Industrial Exhibition held in Jowai
A two day District Level Industrial Exhibition organised by the office of General Manager, District Commerce & Industries Centre, Jowai was inaugurated today by Wailadmiki Shylla, Local MLA at Ladthalaboh Indoor Sports Hall, Jowai. BS Sohliya, Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintai Hills was also present.
Speaking at the Inaugural function Local MLA Wailadmiki Shylla encouraged the entrepreneur and artisans to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Department and to give full dedication to their job to achieve their goals in the production they work for and to earn for their livelihoods to meet both ends. He also extended his appreciation to the Department for taking initiative to conduct such platforms helping the locals to showcase their products.
Deputy Commissioner BS Sohliya appreciated the work of the artisans and encouraged them to continue to participate in such platforms where they can exchange their ideas and views and learn from each other.
General Manager, DCIC, A Malngiang in his welcome address informed that the aim of the exhibition is to encourage the unemployed youths to establish and start their own business, further he said exhibitions of this kind will also give advantage to the local entrepreneurs, local artisans and traditional artisans to exhibit and showcase their art and product.
About 42 stalls have been set up by different government departments and Self Help Groups. (ADIPR)
