District-Level Inter-School Athletic Meet 2025 announced for East Khasi Hills

The East Khasi Hills District-Level Inter-School Athletic Meet 2025 is set to take place from May 6 to 8 at SAI, STC, NEHU Campus, Shillong, bringing together young athletic talent from across the district. Organized by the Office of the District Sports Officer in collaboration with the East Khasi Hills District Athletics Association, the meet will feature a range of events for boys and girls under the age groups of 14, 16, and 18 years.
The athletic meet is expected to draw wide participation from schools across the district. Events will include track races, relays, jumps, throws, and triathlons tailored to each age category. For the Under-14 division, participation in the Kid’s Javelin Throw is mandatory, while Under-16 and Under-18 athletes are allowed to participate in up to two individual events and one relay, with certain combinations restricted.
Each participating school may send a total contingent of 75 members, including athletes and team officials. The meet will follow the guidelines laid out by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and registration through the official AFI portal https://ors.indianathletics.in is mandatory for all athletes aspiring to qualify for the state-level competition.
Important dates to note:
- Last date for submission of entries: April 17, 2025
- Mandatory Age Screening Test: April 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the District Sports Officer’s Office, J.N. Stadium, Shillong
Participants must present original documents—birth certificate or board-issued certificate and Aadhaar card—for age verification. Overaged entries will not be entertained.
The Champion Team will be selected based on the highest number of gold medals, with silver and bronze tallies used to break ties. Additionally, Best Athlete Awards will be determined using the Athletics Federation of India’s scoring tables, including for combined events in the Under-14 category.
All schools must submit two school flags (one during screening, one for the March Past on Day 1), and assist athletes in preparing placards for the introductory parade.
