DLSA conducts legal literacy training for para legal volunteers in West Jaintia Hills
The District Legal Service Authority, West Jaintia Hills conducted a one day Training session and Legal Literacy Training Programme for Para Legal Volunteers today in the Conference Hall of District and Session Court, Khliehtyrshi.
Secretary District Legal Service Authority Smt. B.Majaw, MJS briefed the paralegal volunteers on (FIR) First Information Report, the process of filling an FIR and the importance of accurate and timely reporting of incidents. The volunteers also received detailed insights into various schemes offered by NALSA and Free Legal Services.
She also briefed the volunteers on various topics including Right to Information (RTI) Act,2005, the basic distinction between criminal Law and civil Law, compoundable and non-compoundable offences, bailable and non bailable offences and the rights of Prisoner.
Later, the para legal volunteers actively participated and sought clarification on various matters during the interactive session.
