Don Bosco College Byndihati holds graduation day 2024
Don Bosco College Byndihati celebrated its 7th Graduation Day on September 20. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, Member of Parliament, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sherwin M. Sungoh as the Keynote Speaker.
The program commenced with the Academic Procession followed by the National Anthem. A distinguished gathering attended the ceremony, including Guests of Honor, Special Invitees, graduates, parents, students, management members, and faculty.
Fr. Daniel DM Cajee, the Principal, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. The ceremony included symbolic rituals like the lighting of the lamp and a prayer dance. Cultural performances added to the festive atmosphere.
In her keynote address, Dr. Sherwin M Sungoh underscored the significance of pursuing excellence and transforming challenges into stepping stones. She urged the graduates to embrace adversity as a catalyst for growth and achievement.
Dr. Ricky Andrew J Syngkon, the Chief Guest, praised the foresight of the college’s founders in establishing the institution in Byndihati, a region grappling with one of the lowest literacy rates in India. He commended their commitment to providing educational opportunities in a disadvantaged area. Dr. Syngkon encouraged the graduating students to become agents of change, contributing to social awareness and upliftment.
The highlight of the event was the conferment of degree certificates to the graduating students. The college also recognized outstanding academic achievements with the Excellence Award ceremony. This year, the college produced two rank holders in the NEHU examinations: Richard Siangshai (5th Rank in the Education Department) and Ms. Rajashree Deori (7th Rank in the English Department).
The program concluded with a melodious choir piece and a memorable photo session with the graduate.
