Dr Kharlukhi re-elected unopposed as NPP chief

National People’s Party (NPP) state president Dr WR Kharlukhi was re-elected unopposed as leader of the party. 

Dr Kharlukhi is also Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.

“Since no other nomination was submitted for the post of the State President, the Central Election Authority (CEA) of the party is pleased to announce Dr WR Kharlukhi as the president of the party in the state of Meghalaya,” NPP spokesman and CEA member secretary, Marcuise N Marak said in a statement issued on Saturday.

He also informed that the election scheduled to be held on March 3, stand cancelled as it is no longer required. 

“We wish him the best in his efforts to strengthen and promote the good work of the party in the state of Meghalaya,” Marak stated.
