Drivers to get vaccinated as frontline workers in West Garo Hills

In the meeting, West Garo Hills District Administration with District Transport Office and all the transport operator unions in view of Second Wave of Covid-19, on Thursday. It was stated that every driver, handyman of public transport including auto, Mexi-cab, bus, trucks and pickups will be vaccinated as frontline workers.

Following suit of East Khasi Hills District DC to local taxis for violation of Covid-19 protocols, the West Garo Hills District drivers have also been told to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocols for mask use and hand hygiene.

They also have to ensure that all passengers are wearing masks at all times. Repeat offenders will face a fine as well as licence revocation.
