Dy CM asks HNLC to officially communicate to govt for peace talks
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has asked the HNLC to officially communicate to both the Centre and state governments if it is really serious about peace talks. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the deputy chief minister however appealed to the outfit to send official communication both to the state government as well as to the central government.
“…if you (HNLC) really want peace talks, please come out officially but not just to say in the news or not to just send a note to social media because the government cannot treat that as official. If you are really serious, kindly send us official communication so that we can take it up with the central government,” he said.
Tynsong however informed that the state government had already submitted its views to the central government for peace talks with the HNLC, although no official communication was received from the latter.
“Though we don’t have any official communication which we supposed to have from their side, but still we had already sent our views to the government of India and let government of India (take a call on this) as ultimately if we talk about dialogue or peace talks, this cannot be done only between the HNLC and the state government,” he stated.
