The world needs transformational change from the current state. To necessitate action at every level, from business and investment to local and national government. It is time for the world to keep sectors responsible for their part in the environmental crisis while also pushing for brave, imaginative, and groundbreaking solutions.
In terms of groundbreaking solutions, Le Organica honours the earth by appreciating and respecting the natural world through producing natural products and beekeeping.
Co-founded by Mary G. Wankhar and Srujan in the year 2016 and was incorporated in the year 2017. With the passion to build a business around natural products, the co-founders first started importing natural Loofah, Lakadong Turmeric and Honey from Meghalaya to Mumbai which they sold in pop-ups and farmers markets.
As the demand grew they switched base to Shillong, opened a flagship store in town and began operations by distributing to retail stores across Pan India. Presently, the brand has 7 employees and most of them are women. They also provide employment to local farmers while encouraging their small businesses and securing their livelihood.
Le Organica is an agricultural aggregator of natural products for wellness and lifestyle, as they support local farmers and promote indigenous produce, thereby supporting the agricultural sector, which is the livelihood of more than half of Meghalaya’s population.
Beekeeping helps to maintain nature’s balance. Simply put, without bees, many plants would be unable to reproduce and would eventually lose crops and certain plants will become extinct without bees to do their part. The fate of bees can also indicate when environmental dangers exist.
Le Organica understanding the significance of beekeeping and how it encourages cross-pollination, which is essential for the survival of entire ecosystems. They have entered the beekeeping business because they recognize the value of bees to society and the environment.
The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier the planet – and its people. Restoring our damaged ecosystems will help to end poverty, combat climate change and prevent mass extinction. This is precisely what the brand is striving for by restoring and encouraging beekeeping, which is one of the potential solutions for the aforementioned, as well as a natural and safer way of life by natural products.
