An earthquake measuring 5.0 struck Morigaon, Assam, at 2:25 AM IST on February 27, 2025

According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter was at 26.28°N, 92.24°E, at a depth of 16 km.

Tremors were also felt in parts of Meghalaya, causing brief panic among residents. However, no reports of major damage or casualties have surfaced.
