East Garo Hills first district to lift night curfew
As the number of COVID-19 cases and positivity rate have reduced significantly, the District Magistrate East Garo Hills Swapnil Tembe, IAS on Monday lifted weekend lockdown and Night curfew with immediate effect.
However, all are advised to keep following covid appropriate behaviour and to get vaccinated with both doses at the earliest.
According to the order, All shops/establishments are allowed to operate on all days only from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All Shops are required to indicate vaccination status of their staff in the shop premises.
Weekly markets are not allowed.
Ro- opening of Hotels and Restaurants at maximum of 50 percent strength is allowed from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Public Transport is allowed to operate at 50% of the sitting capacity of respective vehicles. Vaccination status of the driver should be clearly indicated on the vehicle. Private transport are allowed to ply with 100% seating capacity.
Inter district Movement is permitted. Inter-State movement of private vehicles is subject to the latest Entry protocols as notified by Govt vide No. Health. 99/2020/171, Dated. 6th September, 2021.
Re- opening of Educational institutions is allowed subject to compliance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by Education Department.
Religious Places Places of worship are permitted to open subject to compliance of SoP issued by the Home(Political) Department. Solemnization of marriages in religious places/ places of worship shall be as per aforementioned SoP.
Meetings and trainings, official and private are allowed with prior permission from the undersigned and subject to attendance of not more than 1/3rd of the total capacity of the hall/venue. Funeral gatherings to be restricted to 20 persons. Engagement/Marriage Ceremonies outside religious places/places of worship to be restricted to a total of 20 persons with prior permission.
Re-opening of tourists places is allowed for local, domestic and international tourists subject to compliance with SoP being issued by the Tourism Department.
Sports activities are permitted for training purposes only as per the SoP issued by the Sports and Youth Affairs department. Gymnasium & Fitness Centres are permitted to operate subject to adherence of covid protocols.
Construction works that do not involve movement of labour from outside the State are permitted across the district. Construction works that involve movement of labour from outside the State are only permitted with due permission from the district magistrate.
Central/State government offices, Banks and Post Offices are allowed to operate at 100% strength and shall close at 5:00 PM daily
The following entities and services are exempted from the movement and operational restrictions:
- All Health Services-Staff of Medical Department, Staff of CCC, Medical Emergency cases Vaccination related movement, Medical and Pharmaceutical shop.
- All Essential Services-Police, Civil Defence, MeECL, PHE, Municipal, PDS, FCI, all kind of goods vehicles, delivery & courier services etc.
- Print & Electronic Media, Petrol Pumps, LPG Distributors.
Wearing of face Mask/Covering of mouth and nose when coming out is mandatory and spitting & smoking in the public places is prohibited. Violators will be imposed penalty by the designated officers.
