East Jaintia Hills DC inaugurates 45 day handloom weaving training programme in Ladrymbai

East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal on Tuesday inaugurated a 45-day handloom weaving training programme for 29 weavers at Ladrymbai Handloom Cooperative Society.

The training was arranged with support from the Weavers’ Service Centre in Guwahati. The trainees will receive an honorarium of Rs. 300 per day during the training.

After completion of training, the weavers will be registered in the Ministry of Textile’s database, allowing them to access subsidized yarn and individual looms at a 90% subsidy, facilitated by the District Administration.
