East Jaintia Hills DC issues protocols for entry into Meghalaya
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District informs all Citizens and concerned under East Jaintia that Entry Protocols has been simplified.
According to the notification, there is no restrictions on Interstate Travel, there is no need for upload of documents and it will be an Automatic Online Approval, but documents needs to be produced at the entry gate .
The public should kindly note that as per Para 5 of the MHA Guidelines dated 29th August, 2020; there shall be no restriction on inter and intra State movement. In compliance to the guidelines, a new application has been introduce for registration for COVID-19 testing in place of the registration for Entry Pass to Meghalaya. As per the new application, approval is auto generated on successful submission of the form.
The Deputy Commissioner also said that there are new features of the application (http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.html) whereby applicants need to only fill the form and submit, no documents needs to be uploaded by the applicant. The approval is auto generated and the Deputy Commissioner will no longer be required to approve applications.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner will also ensure that in addition the valid identity proof, the applicants should also produce the following documents at the entry points. The documents required includes Residential proof, On Government Duty, Valid documents from respective Government / Department, Business related, Booking Confirmation of Paid Quarantine, Medical Treatment, Medical Referral, Migrant Skilled or Highly Skilled Labour, Booking Confirmation of Paid Quarantine.
The applicants will also have to indicate the mode of travel and they should follow the protocols for hiring of vehicles from Transport Department, after documents verification at the entry points the travellers will be taken to the Reporting Point directly for testing. For self- driven vehicle/ hired commercial Vehicle (other than the ones from the Transport Department), after documents verification at the entry points, travellers will be tested at the Entry Point
In addition, the drivers halting for more than a day are to also register for testing separately. The same protocol shall be applicable as per the duration of stay. Personal Details, Mode of Travel, Category, proposed Place of Stay in Meghalaya, Arrival Date, Duration of Stay and Entry Gate will be clearly indicated in the auto generated Registration document.
