East Jaintia Hills District Admin imposed Total Curfew from May 21
In order to safeguard from an uncontrollable surge in COVID -19 cases in East Jaintia Hills District, E. Kharmalki, IAS District Magistrate has decided to imposed Total Curfew in entire District from 8.00 P.M of May 21 till 5.00 AM of May 31.
The order restricted Inter District movement of persons. No person is to step out without a valid reason vehicles plying without passes will be liable for strict penalties.
ln situ constructions permitted vide earlier orders stands cancelled.
State bank of India Khliehriat Branch and Punjab National Bank Khliehriat Branch only are permitted to open with limited staff
Only authorized home delivery services of essential goods is allowed with strict observance of the given protocol/ advisories.
All education institutions shall be closed. However on line classes shall continue as usual.
Roadside dhabas/ tea shops services for those permitted.
Stand alone essential shops in localities having no covid cases shall open to be regulated by the Waheh Chnong concern with strict observance of covid protocols of social distance, mask Waring cough, etiquette, hand washing etc.
Non Essential Vehicles not Permitted.
However the following are exempted:
a. Health Services including emergency services and vaccination.
b. Agriculture and veterinary services
c. Movement of essential goods.
d. Goods vehicles E-Commerce services, supply of Medicines and Pharmaceuticals.
e. Home Delivery services.
f. Persons travelling on Essential Government duty viz on covid.
g. Police Security and Armed forces
h. Civil Defense and Home guards
i. Fire and Emergency Services.
j. Tyre repairing shops along National Highway including Basu Workshop, Lad Sutnga presently engaged for repair of vehicles engaged for covid duties.
k. Power ( NEEPCO, MeECL, Powgrid etc)
I. Water Supply (PHE).
m. Roads Buildings (PWD, NHAI)
n. Information and Public Relation.
o. Public Distribution System (Monday to Saturday from 8. A.M to 4 P.M)
p. Central government offices as notified by Home (political department vide Notification No POL.117/2020 /Pt.VI/225, dated 18.05.2021 and State Government offices as notified by Personnel & A.R (A) department vide notification. NO. PER.62/20202/54, dated 18.5.2021)
q. Funeral gathering, but should be restricted to 20 persons only with prior permission.
r. Government offices and staff engaged on Covid -19 duty.
Any violation and non-compliance to SOPs will make the establishment liable for closure and any person (S) violated the lockdown restriction shall be booked under Section 51 (b), 52, & 54 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, Section 188 IPC and Section 7of the Essential Commodities Act, 1985.
