East Khasi Hills DC releases draft electoral rolls for district council constituencies

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, has announced the publication of Draft Electoral Rolls for the following District Council Constituencies: 6-Sohryngkham, 7-Mawkynrew, 8-Nongkrem, 9-Lyngkyrdem-Laitkroh, 10-Nongshken, 12-Mawsynram, 14-Mylliem, 15-Laban-Mawprem, 16-Nongthymmai, 17-Laitumkhrah-Malki, 18-Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah, 19-Jaiaw, 20-Mawlai, 21-Mawphlang-Diengiei, and 22-Nongspung-Sohiong.

The rolls have been prepared as per Rule 129(1) of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous District (Constitution of District Councils) Rule 1951 (Parts I, II & III), as amended by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council. A copy is available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, and at the offices of all concerned Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers during office hours.

The qualifying date for eligibility is 18 years and above as of January 1, 2025. Any person wishing to file a claim for inclusion of their name, corrections, or objections to entries can do so at the mentioned offices during office hours from January 13, 2025, to January 22, 2025, using the prescribed format.

All claims and objections will be resolved by January 24, 2025, and the Final Electoral Rolls will be published at the same locations on January 27, 2025.
