East Khasi Hills will observe National Deworming Day
The office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills will observe the National Deworming Day (NDD) from 21st to 28th October, 2021 across the District. The National Deworming Day is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to make every child in the country worm free.
The objective of the National Deworming Day (NDD) is to de-worm all children between the ages of 1-19 years to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.
The NDD will be conducted through a Session Site (VHSND/UHSND/Immunization Day etc.) and community based door-to-door approach during 21 October to 28 October, 2021. During these days, administration of Albendazole tablets to all children and adolescents in the age group 1-19 years will be done directly by the frontline workers (ASHA/AWW/ANM). (MIPR)
