Eastern Army Commander interacts with youth ambassadors from Manipur
The National Integration Tour of 9 youth ambassadors from Manipur reached Kolkata experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the city and visiting prominent Army installations.
During their two-day stay in Kolkata, the ambassadors visited the iconic Victoria Memorial, went on a Heritage walk at Fort William, and visited Kitchener House, the headquarters of Eastern Command, and the Eastern Command Museum.
Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command welcomed the ambassadors and interacted with them while encouraging their aspirations and fostering a spirit of unity.
Further, the tour will be visiting Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, where they are scheduled to visit significant landmarks of historical importance and will pay their tribute at the Tawang War Memorial, remembering the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who made supreme sacrifice during the 1962 Indo-China War.
The tour was flagged off by the GOC, Red Shield Division on October 14, from Koirengei in the Imphal East district of Manipur.
The tour is offering the youth ambassadors, an invaluable opportunity to engage with the Army and experience the diverse culture of the country. The interactions and visits will have a lasting impression helping them to build connections and enhance understanding.
