The Block Development Officer, Khliehriat C&RD Block, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat on Tuesday informed that the Block War Control Room has been constituted in order to tackle the present Covid-19 pandemic situation.

The objectives of the Block War Control Room areas is to mobilize Dorbar, Headman, VEC, SHGs, VOs and AWWs for prevention and treatment of COVID, to educate all households and communities on three strategies, to facilitate formulation and implementation of Village COVID plan. The Block War Control will identify emergency vehicles to serve every village and mobilizing private vehicles as needed. Furthermore, they will assist villages in identifying and setting up of Village Isolation Centres and also assist villages in registering individuals for vaccination, coordinating with the BMO. The Block War Control Room will be a source of timely information to citizens, particularly on non- medical interventions. They will also coordinate with the Health Department to support actions under COVID action and the Rescue Mission.
