EKH admin lifts containment of Jongksha village
East Khasi Hills district administration on Thursday lifted the containment of Jongksha village after the COVID-19 active cases have reduced to 8.
The decision was taken based on the report of the Block Development Officer, Mawkynrew C&RD Block and the Medical Officer in-charge of Jongksha PHC that out of the 86 positive cases, 78 have recovered and 8 active cases are still under home isolation.
“…it is hereby ordered to lift the containment of Jongksha Village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block, with strict compliance to the following conditions,” Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo said in her order.
The DC said the households of the 8 active cases should remain under micro-containment and should strictly follow the isolation protocols as mandated by the government.
The order further said that in view of the lockdown/curfew being promulgated in the district, residents should remain indoors, except for essential and medical requirements adding people may come forward for vaccination.
It also added that all symptomatic persons should be tested and reported immediately. Meanwhile, gatherings, weddings, meetings and congregations are not allowed and residents have asked to ensure double masking and maintain social distancing at all times.
