EKH admin prohibits plying of heavy vehicle on Mawmaram-Nongthliew-Mawmih-Mawlyndep road

The district magistrate of East Khasi Hills RM Kurbah on Wednesday issued prohibitory order under section 163 BNSS, prohibiting the plying of heavy loaded vehicles on the Mawmaram-Nongthliew-Mawmih-Mawlyndep road falling under the jurisdiction of the district.

The order said the plying of overloaded vehicles carrying more than 9 Tons has damaged portions of the road and poses danger and threat to villagers/pedestrians due to the narrow width of the road.

It also warned that anybody who violates this shall be prosecuted under Section 188 of the BNSS. In view of the urgency of the situation, this order has been passed exparte and it shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force till further orders.
