EKH DC constitutes committee to monitor re-opening of Iewduh market
A Iewduh COVID-19 management committee has been constituted to monitor the operation of Iewduh market, which will be reopened from June 22.
A total of 413 of 1222 shops will be allowed to open from 8 am to 6 pm.
The order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Matsiewdor War Nongbri said the committee will be headed by the Syiem of Hima Mylliem as team leader.
The members of the committee include all myntris and policemen of the Hima and enforcement of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) while representatives from the DC, SP and district medical & health officer will be special invitees’ members.
“Operation of 413 shops shall strictly adhere to the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs) of government and mandatory compliance to all the advisories of health and family welfare department, without fail,” the order said.
The DC has also directed the Syiem of Hima Mylliem to regulate the operation of the 413 shops and to ensure due compliance of the government advisories with special and strict reference to social distancing concerning the COVID-19 situation.
