Erring driver & handyman arrested for manhandling cop on duty

One Super Carry pickup truck bearing Regn. No. ML05-T-8200 violated the traffic regulation at Nongthymmai junction and caused obstruction on Monday at around 11:30 AM.

Home Guard Volunteer Dwustar Lyngkhoi of Madanrting Traffic Branch intervened to enforce the traffic laws.

However the driver identified as Johnyrias Marboh, of Upper Nongrah without any disregard for the traffic HGV tried to flee and run over him while the handyman identified as Augustin Marboh, of Nongrah Umjapung got down and manhandled him.

The two were arrested under Madanrting PS Case No.57(06)2022 U/S 279/353/34 IPC and will be forwarded to court.

The video of the incident went viral on Monday afternoon and netizens condemned the actions of the driver and handyman.
