Events that are prohibited until further notices in East Khasi Hills

The East Khasi Hills District, Deputy Commissioner has issued a public notice, on Tuesday, stating that in order to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distance, all residents of the district will need to apply for permission for events such as a wedding or funeral.

While meetings, training, and public gatherings are prohibited as of April 19 and will remain so until further notice.

In the notice, the application for the permissions can be submitted via email ([email protected] / [email protected]) or the Public Facilitation Centre at the DC office, Shillong.

Permission applications will be reviewed and processed within two days of receipt through email or the applicant can collect the permission from the Public Facilitation Centre, the notice stated.
