Ex-Congress MLAs appointed as advisers to MDA govt

The former Congress legislators, who recently merged with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), were appointed as advisers to different departments of the state government.

Umsning legislator Dr Celestine Lyngdoh has been appointed as the Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department & Education Department and Nongstoin MLA Gabriel Wahlang as Adviser to Government of Meghalaya, Mining and Geology Department and Public Health Engineering Department with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders, and he will be entitled to perks & facilities under category “A+”.

A notification in this regards was issued on Friday.
