Ex-MPUF President, JHADC CEM & Ex-Cop filed their papers
JOWAI: Making his maiden entry to the political arena, former President of Meghalaya People United Front (MPUF) President Dapoiwanmi Laloo today filed his nomination paper from Jowai Central Constituency on People Democratic Front (PDF) ticket against sitting Congress MDC and former Chief Executive Member of JHADC Andrew .A. Shullai.
The fourth day of filing nomination was heated up with a large crowd of candidates and supporters assembling outside the office chamber of the Returning Officer, District Council Election in DC’s office Jowai.
Chief Executive Member of the JHADC Madonbai Rymbai submitted his paper on the ticket of the National People Party (NPP) to battle out against his arch rival and Independent Candidate Lakhon Dkhar in Sohmynting-Khliehtyrhci and this time the battle is tougher with Sniawbha Dhar (NPP Nartiang MLA) supporting Dkhar instead of the party official candidate.
Cop turned politician and Sitting MDC of Nongjngi Suklang Shylla filed his nomination on UDP ticket.
NPP’s tall man from Nartiang Constituency Paia Dhar filed his nomination from Mukhla-Wahiajer constituency while two Independent Candidate Iarly Dhar and Ailad Bhoi also filed their paper from the same constituency. From Muthlong Sohkymphor constituency three candidates filed their nomination including NPP MDC Skhembok Suchiang and Independent candidate Comely LLyngdoh. UDP Standby candidate Oren Lyngdoh and Lomris Lyngdoh UDP official candidate filed their paper.
Habahun Dkhar will wrestle out from Saphai Constituency on NPP ticket where sitting MDC Chanky Lyngdoh has already hung his boot this election. Independent Candidate Charles Wilson Muskor filed his paper from Ummulong Moodymmai constituency and Jesse Suiam NPP.
Under Mynsngat Khanduli constituency, sitting MDC of NPP Pheiñchwa Nangleiñ and Congress candidates Albinus Sympli filed their papers. Shanbor Sumer of UDP filed his nomination from Mukroh Barato followed by independent candidate Dunno Nongpluh from Jowai South and UDP standby candidate G Susngi from Nangbah also submitted their nomination.
Under the War Jaiñtia MLA Constituency, Lamdibok Sumer sitting MDC of UDP and Gilroy Tariang of NPP filed their papers from War East, from War West NPP sitting MDC Hed Pothmi and War Central Hat Pohchen UDP filed their papers in Amlarem (C) Sub-Division.
Vice Alson Nongtdu of Congress filed his nomination from 24-Sutnga-Narwan constituency yesterday in DC’s office Khliehriat.
Under Tuber constituency, a host of candidates submitted their nomination including sitting MDC Lasky Rymbai of UDP, Kerbhami Dkhar(NPP), Bhalang Bang(INC), Helping Phawa (PDF) and Wanthmu Phawa (Independent).
Whereas from Sutnga Nongkhliew, the candidates who filed their papers are Silbinus Sukhlain (NPP), Shanbor Lamare(UDP), Bisharbha Pala (PDF) and Michael Nongtdu (INC).
Former KSU leader Albinus Lamurong (PDF) filed from Sumer constituency while Anthony Sumer (Independent) filed from 28-Narpuh Constituency followed by Zosiama Thianglai(UDP) from 27-Saipung constituency and Emlangki Lamare(UDP) from Narpuh constituency
Lone female candidate so far from JHADC, Violet Lyngdoh who is the sitting MDC and deputy chairperson JHADC filed her nomination from Rymbai Khliehriat constituency. Dr.Sankey Shangpung (UDP) submitted his nomination from 29-Bataw-Lakadong while Seiborlang Shadap (NPP) filed paper from Sutnga constituency.
Piwell Shylla (Independent) and Amos Dkhar (UDP) file their papers from Musniang Rangad Constituency.
