Faith Academy showcased culture and traditions of three tribes of Meghalaya
Faith Academy School, Jowai organized a cultural Day with the slogan “My Culture My Pride”on Friday at the school campus.
The main highlight of the programme was the displayed of the cultures, traditions, food, and musical instruments of the three major tribes, Khasi, Jaintia & Garo of the state.
Inaugurating the programme, A Andrew Shullai lauded the school and the students for organizing a Cultural Day program, emphasizing taking pride in one’s own culture and traditions.
He also said that in this world of advancing technology and ready access to all information, the world has become a small place and the people in it are becoming global citizens.
Shullai said yet it is with days such as this that we are reminded of our own heritage, customs, and traditions and instill in us all values of “ka akor ka burom” that our ancestors have taught us.
Other who spoke included Chairman & Administrator of the school Aris J Nongkynrih and Headmistress, P. Jana, and other School Managing Committee members.
