Field Level Financial Awareness Event held at Mukhla Village
JOWAI: To spread financial awareness among the masses and introduce every individual to the formal financial system, the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong today organized a ‘Field Level Financial Awareness Event at Ladmukhla Dorbar Hall, Mukhla Village under Thadlaskeiñ C&RD Block, West Jaiñtia Hills District. The event was held as part of the financial inclusion agenda of the Reserve Bank of India.
The Programme was inaugurated by Paoboi Gante, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India. In his key note address, he highlighted on various aspects and benefits of formal banking and financial inclusion.
Further, the officials from the Reserve Bank of India, Shillong through the power point presentation educated and informed the gathering on the roles and function of RBI, financial planning and budgeting, precaution from e-mails, SMS, phone calls and fraudulent companies, grievances redressal mechanism in the banking system, features of genuine currency notes, new development in the field of digital transactions such as UPI, BHIM, USSD etc.
The programme was attended by Smt. B Blah, Block Development Officer, Thadlaskeiñ Block, N Kharluki, DDM, West Jaiñtia Hils NABARD, officials from banks and around 180 participants comprising of farmers, members of SHGs, small time traders, housewives.
