FIR filed over suspicious death of Kynjaimon Amse in road accident
The family of Kynjaimon Amse, a 31-year-old resident of Umkiang Village, East Jaintia Hills District, has filed an FIR at Khliehriat Police Station, expressing doubts about his death in a road accident. The FIR was filed by his maternal uncle, Lalan S. Amse, who has urged the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In the FIR, Lalan Amse stated that he received a phone call at around 2 AM on August 23, 2024, from Suni Pdang, informing him that his nephew Kynjaimon had been involved in an accident at Dkhiah Village. The vehicle, a Maruti Swift with registration number ML 11 9405, was driven by Fullmon Nongtdu from Khilehriat, with two other occupants, Raja L. Suchen and Small Lamin, both from Huroi Village. The car was said to have crashed into a concrete wall while returning from Ladrymbai, resulting in Kynjaimon’s death on the spot.
According to Lalan, the side of the vehicle where Kynjaimon was seated had minimal damage and no visible scratches. “I can’t believe that his death was due to the accident as there seems to be something suspicious,” the FIR said.
Lalan Amse has requested that a case be registered under the appropriate section of the law and to take further necessary action and investigate the incident.
