First AHPI NE healthcare management conclave in Guwahati
Association of Healthcare Providers (India) (AHPI), a ‘non for profit’ organization that represents the vast majority of healthcare providers in India, conducted the first-ever AHPI Northeast Conclave at Hotel Radisson Blue in Guwahati on Saturday.
The conclave started with a welcome address by the organizing chairman Dr JP Sarma and speeches by the president AHPI Dr Bhabatosh Biswas. The objective of the conclave was explained by Dr Harsha Bhattacharjee, president AHPI NE 1.
Important topics on healthcare management were dealt upon by renowned speakers of national and regional repute. Deliberation on “Understanding Healthcare in NE” was detailed by Director General AHPI Dr Girdhar Gyani on the national perspective and Dr NC Dutta, CMD, GNRC Hospitals on the regional perspective, which was moderated by Dr JP Sarma, DMS Marwari Hospitals. Dr Alexander Thomas, Patron AHPI and Dr Subhash Khanna, CMD Swagat Hospitals stressed on the ‘Importance of Effective Communication in Quality Healthcare Delivery’ on the national and regional front respectively, moderated by Dr Sumit Kr Khan, secretary AHPI West Bengal Chapter.
“Challenges in Healthcare Sustainability” was aptly discussed by Dr Ravindra Karanjekar, Group CEO, Kiran Hospital Mumbai on a national perspective. Dr Kh Palin, CMD Shija Hospital, Imphal showed the regional front. Imminent Quality Healthcare person in the industry Dr Parag Rindani, Group CEO shared his experience on the “necessity of quality in healthcare delivery”, moderated by Dr Jeet Patwari, managing partner, Pinnacle Healthcare Consultants.
“AI, Evolving Technology and Innovation, regarding its opportunities, challenges and risks” was deliberated on by Dr Sujoy Kar, chief medical information officer and vice president of Apollo Groups who shared his experience of working in this field; and also, by Dr Jyoti Rama Das, managing partner, Integra Ventures, which was moderated by Mayurakshi Dutta, executive director, Downtown Hospitals.
The programme was meticulously conducted by the organizing secretary Dr. Seema Konwar who said, “This was a dream to have the conclave” and that “understanding the intricacies of managing healthcare is the call of the day for uplifting the healthcare scenario of NE.” The Conclave had an overwhelming participation by more than 300 delegates from all the Northeastern states.
To conclude, the General Secretary AHPI 1. Rohit Upadhyay thanked the esteemed speakers, sponsors, the members of the organizing committee and all the delegates and said, “Without your participation, this would not have been possible.”
A special note of thanks was also given to Manoj Deka who as a souvenir editor had single-handedly managed to bring out “Bahniman” on time. Congratulating the organizing team, Dr Girdhar Gyani said, “The conclave has set the tone for great collaborations and meaningful networking amongst the healthcare providers in India and the Northeast.”
